Stuttgart. In June, the US market developed extremely successfully for Dr. Ing h. c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart: deliveries to customers soared to 2,141 cars. This corresponds to an increase of 137 percent, as compared with the same month of the previous year (902 cars). The new generation of the sporty utility vehicle Cayenne, 496 (+ 80 percent) of which were sold at the beginning of the month when it was first introduced in the US, has been outstandingly well received.

Equally pleasing is the great interest shown in the new Panamera Gran Turismo, which sold 739 cars in June, reaching the highest level of sales since it was introduced. The sales of Porsche icon 911 increased significantly compared to the previous year: 544 US customers decided to purchase the coveted sports car (+ 48 percent). In the mid-engine model range, Boxster sales increased by 75 percent with 240 cars sold in June; Cayman sales remained more or less stable with 123 deliveries (- 1 percent).

After the first six months of the current calendar year, Porsche sold a total of 10,984 vehicles in the US. This corresponds to an increase of 14 percent, as compared to the same period of the previous year.

Stuttgart. The engineers at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, have developed a new top-of-the-range sports car for the customer who will only settle for the very best in terms of power, performance and driving dynamics: the 911 Turbo S.

The heart of this most exclusive high-performance athlete is of course a six-cylinder boxer boosted by two exhaust gas turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, with an increase in power over the 911 Turbo by 30 to 530 bhp (390 kW). Maximum torque is a most impressive 700 Newton-metres (516 lb-ft). At the same time this new top model comes as standard with all high-tech components available only as options on the “regular” 911 Turbo.

Despite its significant increase in power and dynamic performance, the new 911 Turbo S, at 11.4 litres/100 kilometres (equal to 24.8 mpg imp), does not consume any more fuel than the Porsche 911 Turbo, making it by far the most efficient sports car in its performance class.

The 911 Turbo S comes exclusively with seven-speed Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) (Porsche’s Double-Clutch Gearbox) conveying drive power to Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive. Driving safety optimised to an even higher standard is ensured by Dynamic Engine Mounts and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) including a mechanical differential lock on the rear axle. In conjunction with Launch Control on the Sport Chrono Package Turbo likewise featured as standard, 911 Turbo S accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds

Top speed is 315 km/h or 195 mph. Extra-light and fading-resistant Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) provide the same outstanding performance in terms of stopping power and controlled application of the brakes.

The supreme level of standard equipment including Dynamic Bending Lights, 19-inch wheels in RS Spyder design with central locking, a three-spoke sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles, adaptive sports seats, cruise control, a CD/DVD changer and exclusive twin-tone leather upholstery in Black/Crema or Black/Titanium Blue additionally underlines the outstanding class and calibre of this first Turbo S in five years.

The new Porsche 911 Turbo S will be at the dealership as both a Coupé and Cabriolet as of May 2010. The German market price of the Turbo S Coupé is Euro 173,241 including 19 per cent value-added tax and local equipment in the market (the Euro base price is Euro 145,400). The Cabriolet retails in the German market at Euro 184.546, again including 19 per cent VAT and local equipment/specifications (base price Euro 154,900).

Porsche Ranks Ahead of All Other Top-End Brands; On Track for Record Year

Atlanta. IntelliChoice.com announced the winner of its 2009 Best Warranty for luxury cars is Porsche Cars North America. This is the second consecutive time that Porsche’s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program has received this prestigious award.

Under the Porsche program, customers who purchase a Certified Pre-Owned Porsche will receive a company backed 2-year or cumulative 50,000 miles (whichever comes first) limited warranty that mirrors the new car limited warranty coverage. Additionally, for customers who buy cars with a balance of the New Car Limited Warranty Coverage, this remaining balance will be added to the new Certified Pre-owned Limited Warranty coverage, which makes coverage up to 6 years from the in-service date.

According to IntelliChoice.com, Porsche rated the highest with customers of luxury brands in a number of key criteria, including: certification inspection process, brand value, extended manufacturer warranties, title verification, roadside assistance, special financing, return policy and dealer compliance with the program.

“It is an honor to have IntelliChoice again recognize our CPO Warranty as the best among all the luxury competitors,” said Kevin P. Harvey, PCNA’s manager of pre-owned operations. “From a customer standpoint , this award means we are meeting our goals of providing warranty coverage that gives our customers peace of mind and a sense of value. Both are key factors to any successful CPO program.”

So far this year, PCNA has sold 5,603 CPO vehicles, which is just slightly below last year’s record pace of 5,862.

Harvey said he expects to surpass last year’s mark by year’s end.

“Being recognized with this prestigious award will certainly help,” he said.

ATLANTA. Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the new Panamera Gran Turismo announced October sales in the U.S. of 1,642 units compared to the same period last year when it sold 1,427, up 15 percent. This marks the third consecutive month that PCNA has recorded an increase in year-over-year sales from 2008.

On sale for only about two weeks, Porsche’s new four-door Panamera has already recorded sales of 360.

“The market launch of the Panamera was October 17, so the number is encouraging,” said PCNA President and CEO, Detlev von Platen. “Just as importantly, we expect the Panamera to bring additional momentum to our dealerships that will benefit our entire model line.”

Also notable for October were sales of the German automaker’s mid-engine sports cars, the Boxster and Cayman, with 271 units sold compared to 153 the year prior, a 77 percent increase.

Porsche’s overall year-to-date sales in 2009 are 15,952 compared to the same period last year when sales were 22,503, a decrease of 29 percent.

For the month, Porsche’s Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were 548, compared to 389 for the same month last year, a 41 percent increase.
